While the benefits of moving certain business applications to the cloud are widely understood, many organizations can be reticent to make the digital transformation change – often for fear of disrupting their day-to-day processes, making an existing technology investment redundant, or risking the security of their data. With Pivotal Engineering, however, the opposite was the case.
Challenge:
Pivotal engineering struggled with effective project collaboration complexities, as their project data resided on many different platforms, servers/computers and locations. There was no clear workflow to allow their AutoCAD/BIM environment to interact with their drawing environment to interact with their project management environment. Current “on premise” architecture was not sustainable and required a transparent project collaboration platform for domestic and global business opportunities.
Solution:
Continuum performed a “data analysis” to map out where all of the project data resided.
After extensive consultation with various entities, the recommendation was made to migrate all of Pivotal’ s project data into a centralized repository on the AutoDesk Construction Cloud (ACC) Platform, utilizing the BIM and DOCS modules. With the adoption of ACC, Pivotal was able to replace paper drawings, emails, spreadsheets, document management systems, etc. with a single solution that all stakeholders could use to submit or access information at any time and from anywhere. Project collaboration was drastically transformed and digital transformation achieved.

With the solutions provided by Continuum, Pivotal was able to see immediate results in their design, drawing, and project management collaboration workflows. This digital transformation has allowed Pivotal to deliver projects results by uniting field and office teams from design through construction and operations. They also gained the comfort of knowing that their IT infrastructure is being managed by Continuum.
